If Not, sorry... I hate legal junk, so I'll keep this simple. This FAQ is property of Almasy, or Brady Tully. It has permission to appear at Gamefaqs.com and TacticsOgre.com. Otherwise, you shouldn't be reading this. There... Feel free, in fact you should feel inclined, to find me on the Gamefaqs board with your suggestions, comments and additions. Enjoy... and if you like this, check out my other FAQs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) What is the Snapdragon? Put simply, the Snapdragon is the game's most powerful and most customizable weapon. It is a way to turn one of your characters into a sword reflecting his/her stats. "The snap of a level one soldier is stronger than the strongest normal weapon" - Destin ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) So... how do I use it? 1) Have one in your expendables inventory 2) Enter training/battle (not quest) 3) Have the character who you want "snapped" to use the Snapdragon item 4) Have another character pick up the item left behind 5) Finish battle or training ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) Where do I find it? You can find 4 Snapdragon scrolls in the game. Please note that the scrolls, nor the weapons, can be duplicated or traded, they are funny like that. 1) Buried under some snow (must be burned away first) in the west corner of Belleza 2) Buried in Sotavento under some gravel in the east corner 3) Dropped by a Giant in Harmonia (chapter 3 battle) 4) Dropped by a Vrtra in Rebanada II (chapter 3 optional battle) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) Snapping Mechanics A Snap Sword has: 85 Attack Power (yes, thats a lot) 1/2 the STR, INT of the creator 1/5 the AGI of the creator The element (fire, ice, earth, air, holy, bane) of the creator The element decides the appearance of the sword This leads to some very powerful weaponry... In addition, several classes give the snapped sword a special attribute If a class is not listed here, then it gives no attribute Knight - Prevents FEAR (Fear is the -1 to support, eg: Vrtras give fear) Swordmaster - May add Instant Death Valkyrie - Support +1 for nearby male allies Dragoon - Raises attack power against dragons High Priest/Priest - Prevents against instant death Beast Master - Support +1 for all beasts Dragon Tamer - Support +1 for all nearby dragons Lich - Support +1 for all nearby undead Angel Knight - Support +1 for all nearby allies Fairy - Luck increases Gorgon - Prevents petrification ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) Suggestions Well... never snap a class that gives no special attribute (don't be lazy, now...) Never snap a story character or Lich either, its not worth it Knights and Valkyrie's make lousy snaps, 'cuz their abilities are easily outdone Some good ideas for snaps... Giants Alright, I know I just hypocriticized myself, but this is an exception... AMAZING STR is real handy, and you can pick the element for more power Mushus OK, I hypocriticized myself again... This is an easy to get, real powerful sword with the Holy Element You could also get an easy Bane sword from a Vrtra, but the stats are less Swordmaster The good AGI/STR is nice, and Instant Death is a decent effect I highly recommend you match the element with the intended future wielder Angel Knight Lots of people snap Lobelia and get Saia just because of this... The +1 to all nearby is one of the best abilities... AND you get the Holy element (or Bane if you use an Urn of Chaos) AND you get good stats This is, by far, the most popular snap Fairy I recently tried this, and I LOVE it... The AGI combined with Luck more then makes up for the lack of STR If you get hit with one of these equipped, tell me on the message boards Siren Betcha didn't see this one coming... Let your wizards in on the fun, you'll love the results Might wanna change a level 50 Siren to Angel Knight first, then snap ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) When should I snap? This is hotly debated, and is a matter of personal taste. However, I would suggest you snap your most powerful generic you can let go of as soon as you get your first Snapdragon. For the other Snapdragons, raise your own special generics (with cool names) for the sole purpose of snapping and do so only at level 50. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) Contributors/Idea Givers/Thanks Another nameless dolt too lazy to look in some other faq, inspiring this one CJayC - Gamefaqs.com, 'nuf said Ankoku Kishi - Said something about training and snapping Fingolfin - Provided a definition for fear Layoneil's Secrets FAQ - A truly great FAQ
